Close inspection at grade where ants trail

Grade and moisture

The trail on the counter is not a character flaw.

Pavement ants, carpenter-risk wood, and moisture-driven trails at Calgary grade, kitchens, and slab joints.

The organism, then the joint

A trail on a kitchen counter is a moisture and grade story. Pavement ants use slab joints and expansion gaps. Carpenter-risk species need wet or decaying wood. Chemistry on the baseboard without a moisture note is theatre.

What we actually do

  • Find the colony’s relationship to water and wood — not just the trail.
  • Treat to label where a population is active.
  • Flag the building defect (irrigation, decay, open joint) so it does not reseed.

Questions

About ants

Will a spring perimeter spray fix it?

It will hide it until the next watering cycle. If irrigation hits the cladding or a slab joint is open, the trail returns. We would rather show you the joint.

The hole

A trail on the counter feels like a character flaw. It is a moisture and grade story after melt.

If we go

The counter stays yours. Irrigation and the open joint are on the list, not guessed at.
